The Supreme Lord of the Heavens – Chapter 3: A Song That Captivates the City

Qin Wuyi turns around, only to find that the person approaching is none other than Mi Xue, the eldest princess of the Chu royal family.

As the princess of Chu, Mi Xue possesses exceptional talent in cultivation, mastering various arts such as music, chess, calligraphy, and painting. She is also well-versed in poetry and songs. It is no exaggeration to say that she is the true number one student in the Literature Academy, excelling in both literary and martial arts.

However, her personality is as cold as thousand-year-old ice, keeping others at a distance. Despite having spent eight years in the Qufu Academy, she has no friends. Although she has many admirers, she never spares them a glance.

Seeing her before him, Qin Wuyi feels an indescribable emotion. The six states, led by Zhao and Chu, destroyed Qin. The King of Chu personally led the army, trampling on the corpses of Qin’s soldiers and attacking the palace, ultimately killing the King of Qin. How can such a deep hatred be forgotten?

Qin Wuyi ignores Mi Xue and turns away. Mi Xue, still smiling, magically produces a bowl of steaming noodles from behind her back. The soup is adorned with green onions, simple yet elegant.

“Today is your birthday. According to Qin’s customs, one should eat longevity noodles,” Mi Xue says.

“Princess, you are mistaken,” Qin Wuyi replies, turning around. “Today is not my birthday, and I am not from Qin.”

The crown prince of Qin, Ying Zheng, is a fugitive, with the six states issuing orders to arrest him. Those who provide information will be rewarded with a million dao coins, while those who capture him will receive a hundred million dao coins.

Dao coins are the common currency used by the six states, circulated among ordinary people and cultivators. They are made of pure gold. Apart from dao coins, there are also spirit crystals, which are rare and difficult to mine. A polished spirit crystal is worth a thousand dao coins. Spirit crystals aid in cultivation and are primarily circulated among cultivators.

The spirit crystals mined by the six states are handed over to the Mo family for processing. The Mo family takes a portion as a fee and returns the rest, forming a mutually beneficial relationship.

With such a high reward for his capture, Qin Wuyi must endure and conceal his identity. He will never forget the words spoken by Bai Qi before his departure. All the people of the six states are his enemies. He will not trust anyone, including Mi Xue.

When Qin Wuyi was six years old and Mi Xue was four, the King of Chu met with the King of Qin to discuss state affairs and plan for the world’s future. In a moment of joy, the King of Chu proposed that Mi Xue marry the crown prince, Ying Zheng, forming an alliance between the two states. The Qin and Chu kingdoms had a history of several intermarriages, and the King of Qin readily agreed.

At that time, Mi Xue was young and naive. She accidentally fell into a pond, and it was Ying Zheng who risked his life to save her. Since then, Mi Xue has followed Ying Zheng like a little sidekick, always calling him “Zheng gege.”

However, a year later, on his birthday, the King of Chu allied with the six states, attacking and breaching the gates of Qin’s capital city. They invaded the palace and killed everyone. From that day on, Qin Wuyi no longer celebrated his birthday. It became a day of humiliation for him. How could he forget the hatred of his fallen nation?

As for how Mi Xue knew his identity, Qin Wuyi himself was unaware. However, he had never acknowledged it.

As Qin Wuyi is about to leave, Mi Xue stops him again.

“Zheng gege, I personally cooked these noodles for you. Please try them,” she pleads.

Qin Wuyi abruptly waves his hand, causing Mi Xue to lose her balance, and the bowl of noodles falls to the ground, staining her white palace attire.

“Even if you don’t want to admit it, I know you are my Zheng gege!” Mi Xue exclaims.

Qin Wuyi walks over to her, coldly stating, “You have mistaken me for someone else. The Zheng gege you speak of perished in the fiery sea of Xianyang long ago.”

With those words, he leaves.

The Ying Zheng of the past is dead. Now, he is Qin Wuyi.
