The Supreme Lord of the Heavens – Chapter 1: A Resounding Debut

In the land of the Spring and Autumn period, there lies the city of Qufu in the state of Chu. As the birthplace of Confucianism, Qufu is most renowned for its academy. Over the years, countless scholars have flocked to this institution, with the most famous being the Literature Academy.

Within an ordinary classroom in the Literature Academy, many students dressed in white robes and white headbands engage in lively discussions. They speak of a mysterious figure who, despite being unknown, is exceptionally skilled and has single-handedly defeated three top-ranked experts. Some even claim that this person, along with a talented female from the Martial Arts Academy, has triumphed over a Taoist priest from the Yin-Yang School.

Amidst the chatter, a young man with shoulder-length black hair and a snow-white robe sits at a desk, his face partially concealed by a mask. Despite his delicate features, his eyes shine with a piercing gaze that seems to penetrate the world’s mysteries. He remains focused on an ancient book, seemingly unaffected by the surrounding conversations.

Suddenly, a bell rings, and the students hurry back to their seats. One student deliberately knocks over the ancient book on the young man’s desk. The young man, named Qin Wuyi, is eighteen years old today, marking his coming of age. He is both the pride and the shame of the Literature Academy.

Qin Wuyi frowns slightly as he picks up the book, carefully brushing off the dust. At this moment, a tall, middle-aged man in a green robe enters the room. All the students stand up and bow in unison, greeting their teacher, Gao Wenhai.

Gao Wenhai announces that the best landscape painting assignment belongs to Qin Wuyi, causing the class to erupt in laughter and ridicule. Only Qin Wuyi and a young lady behind him remain silent. The painting, titled “The Painting of Swallowing Mountains and Rivers,” showcases Qin Wuyi’s exceptional artistic skills and his grand ambitions.

However, the students mock Qin Wuyi, calling him a “ten-year three-star waste.” In this world, strength is respected, and cultivators harness the power of the stars to enhance their abilities. Despite Qin Wuyi’s mastery of the arts and his profound knowledge, he remains a three-star cultivator after ten years in the academy, earning him the scorn of his peers.

Amidst the mockery, the young lady behind Qin Wuyi, Princess Mi Xue of the Chu royal family, stands up in his defense. She compares Qin Wuyi to the legendary King Zhuang of Chu, who remained silent for three years before making a resounding debut and becoming the hegemon of the Spring and Autumn period.

Gao Wenhai reminds Qin Wuyi that if he fails to pass the academy’s assessment and enter the Earth Sect by the age of eighteen, he will be expelled from the academy. Qin Wuyi, with determination in his eyes, reveals five glowing yellow beads—a sign that he has broken through to the five-star realm, stunning the entire class.
